Told about this earlier today, sounded like a bad accident, they had to close the ford road for ages because of it.

              Update:

Academy manager John Owens has revealed that Sean Highdale is making good progress after the Reds youngster was involved in a horrific car accident earlier in the week.

The 17-year-old midfielder, who is highly regarded at the club's youth base in Kirkby, has continued to show improvement following the fatal car accident that killed two teenagers near Speke Boulevard on Sunday.

It is good news for everyone associated with the club and Owens says they are now focused on assisting with the youngster's rehabilitation.

"Well the positive news is that his condition has improved and he has been moved from a high dependancy ward into a normal ward," Owens told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"Our first thought was to ensure he pulled through and now we can try and assess the damage it has caused and look at the type of rehabilitation he requires.

"We are very hopeful he can complete a full recovery. We can't put a time frame on it but he's a real fighter and we hope he can come back and continue to progress with us at the Academy."

So sad, Sounds like he was actually the lucky one, It's no age to die. Let's hope he pulls through & gets the chance to live his life.

Was he a passenger or driver, do you know,(nothing i read mentions this) is he likely to be left with issues he'll find hard to come to terms with. Then again plenty of time to deal with those questions.

Good news that he is making progress though Obviously followed the academy closely this year and young Sean has been ace and is v similar to Spearing. Hopefully see him back in the red shirt sooner rather than later

                          Sean Highdale Update

                          SEAN HIGHDALE UPDATE

Academy manager John Owens has spoken of his joy after hearing the news that Reds youngster Sean Highdale was released from hospital.
The 17-year-old midfielder, who is highly regarded at the club's Academy, survived an horiffic car crash in April that saw two of his friends killed near Speke Boulevard.

Highdale has now had an operation on his knee and has just returned to the Academy for a process of rehabilitation work.

"It's great to see Sean back at the Academy and he is working with the physio," said Owens.

"He is a popular player and we will do all we can to help him in his recovery."

                            best of luck to him
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."
