Quick to blame defensive mistakes for our goals, not so quick for theirs.

Alonso should not have let Diaby go, nor should Reina have been beaten at the near post, what ever this numpty says. And how fot their second goal Liverpool can have so many players forward, when we are in the box seat, was totally beyond me.

Mark my words, had we have lost to that Adeybayor goal I would have been screaming blue murder. Where the **** was our defense? We didn't need to score! And why the **** didn't Aurelio or Hyypia foul Walcott and bring him down? ****ing prats.

And I ****ing hate Arsenal. ******s.
    Forwards.......

Yeah Arsenal don't really have a top class "go to man". Every top team has one, if not a handful. While we have Gerrard, Torres and arguably even Babel, they have Fabregas at a push. A fit van Persie could be in that bracket but it's been a long time since we've seen a fit van Persie.

I agree with el matador - they need a 'marquee signing' or two.

Four trophyless years now for Wenger.

They could do with an experienced partner to put deep in midfield with him at times though - this is Flamini's breakout season and he still lacks some things in terms of dictating a game.

I think a few years experience and the current Arsenal team without any additions except someone to take van Persie's place when he is injured (most of the time) would begin to win things. However short term I don't think you can have one really experienced player who is clearly the leader of the squad in Gallas if that man is as flaky as he has shown himself to be lately.

I would completely disagree about Eboue on the right. His is not a swift footed natural winger but he is a decent passer and has an excellent cross on him and is very pacy.

I would say that you also under rate Hleb and Rosicky. Hleb would be one of the very best attacking midfield players in the PL for me.
lets agree to disagree on hleb but hear me out.

he fits well into arsenal's overall style of play. when he plays as an orthodox winger he is nowhere near as effective as was proved when he was moved out on the left last night. The same applies for rosicky who is not a winger.

as for eboue - he is absolutely rubbish. He has pace but no brain. he isnt really a threat and he wont score goals, i dont think he has many assists and even arsenal fans are asking why he is playing. he isnt good enough to play at that level.

arsenal play a very fluid system and its hard to say what their formation is. Does hleb play in the middle or does he play on the left or right. what about rosicky - where does he play ? They move all over the place.

because these 2 have that freedom that their system allows they look very good. put them on the wings in a rigid 442 and i dont think they will have the same impact.

I do agree that they lack leadership. Its funny because their past sides have always had it in abundance - adams, keown, vieira, henry, sol campbell. They have had some towering presences in their side. That's certainly not the case now. But I dont believe that this team with more experience would be better.

Its obvious that there's something missing and I dont think its experience. I think they need more quality and they need some characters. Its something Wenger's going to have to address in the summer because they need to fill that stadium every week.

edit - the other thing they are missing is a plan b

Liam Brady Vs Souness and Dunphy!!!

For anyone who didnt see this last night, check out RTE's post match coverage last night.

http://www.rte.ie/sport/audiovideo.html - On the right-hand side of the page, scroll down to the "Liam Brady, Eamon Dunphy and Graeme Souness clash in their post-match analysis of Liverpool v Arsenal. Watch it again here." and click play, classic stuff.

Dunphy comparing Wenger to John Cleese's Ministry of Silly Walks and Brady saying he wouldnt have come on if he knew about it!

Whilst you could argue we missed Agger last night I think Arsenal missed Rosicky and Eduardo more, certainly the injury to the latter can now be seen as a point when Arsenal's season took a signifcant turn for the worse as they've missed the option he gives them in attack with van Persie also nowhere near 100%.

Arsenal's team is fairly young but if you look at the two squads last night they were on average only a year younger than us per man and that figure may have been even closer if Agger, Eduardo and Rosicky had all been fit.

I admire the way they play football and it's hard to criticise Wenger's approach to the transfer market when you consider he built the invincibles without spending a ridiculous amount of money.

Wenger has his principles and it appears he won’t ever change them. He won’t even adapt just slightly. In some ways you have to admire him for that – he wants to play and win one way and one way only. He won't be swayed by clamouring from media or fans and his footballing philosophy is clear and steadfast.

In other ways he’s ripe for criticism because, as you’ve pointed out, you don’t win things without working on the defensive side of things and you don’t win things with a 20 year old as the fulcrum of your side.
And the perfect example at wenger being so stubborn and "one-dimensional" in his approach showed when he put a half injured Van Persie on instead of Bendtner and use him as a target striker with Adebayor.

Brady has made himself unavailable for tonight's match.

I don't think RTE should have had a current employee of Arsenal on their panel last night. He's hardly going to criticise his team. He was visibly cringing when Souness and Dunphy were laying into Senderos. And while the Wenger segment was a bit harsh on one the the best managers in England, it was very entertaining viewing.
That rug really tied the room together.

Everyone's pandering to Brady at the end. "Yeah, yeah. You're right Liam, we shouldn't be making fun of Wenger's imminent breakdown. Aren't you clever, aren't you good. Well done, Liam". That's what you do when you're trying to calm a drunk down. Incase he suddenly throws a pint glass at the barmaids (maybe that's just my pub). Souness and Dunphy should have shown a bit of spine and ripped the piss out of Wenger some more. Called him a paedo or something.
