I thought Kuyt was outstanding in the last 15 mins too. Where he got his energy from I don't know, but he was playing as if it was the first 15 mins.
    Oh I don't know.

He was truly heroic in the last 15-20 minutes.

I think Crouch was picked last night for fairly obvious reasons - i.e. Arsenal can't handle him. Also the surprise factor, but mainly the fact that Crouch has always done so well against the Gooners.

He wasn't quite so effective last night and he'd be back on the bench against Chelsea, for me.

That said, there is a very strong case for keeping Babel on the bench until the last 20 minutes or so to run at tiring legs.
I really think though that that is Torres showing he is the sort of versatile player that is needed at the highest level these days (and is the problem with Crouch compared to many other top players IMO). Different problems need to be set to teams at different times and in many ways Crouch is often best doing that from the bench although against a team with a short unphysical defence like Arsenal starting him may be a good plan. Totally different circumstance against the tall powerful Chelsea defence I would say and he should be on the bench.

we won, crouch played well imo, he would have played better if we had players on the wings that could cross a ball but that's a conversation for another day.

          Arsenal can't handle him.

              Take the hint FFS.

He’s not a world beater but he’s good enough to be a squad player at Liverpool FC. He’s proved that time and time again. Everyone knows your ludicrously short-sighted stance on him ("he's not fast and he's dead tall, he must be ****!!!!!!111") as you pollute every thread on the man with the same inane insults – why bother posting the same ****e in every thread?
              aye your probably right
