    Mascherano Appeal Dismissed

    Hardly surprising.

Javier Mascherano will sit out this weekend's clash with Blackburn after failing in a bid to have his suspension overturned.
On 3 April, a Regulatory Commission fined Mascherano £15,000 and gave him an additional two match suspension for improper conduct in relation to his behaviour after being sent off during Liverpool's match against Manchester United on Sunday 23 March.

Mascherano appealed on the grounds that the punishment was excessive but this was dismissed by the Appeals Panel.

Mascherano will now serve the remaining one match of his suspension with immediate effect, ruling him out of Sunday's game against Blackburn.
"My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I would die for that Liverpool shirt. I think the club loves me and I feel the same, no matter what the situation." - Pepe Reina, Nov '09.

****ing pricks. A clear precedent had been set. What exactly is their justification for breaking this precedent?

Gives him a rest anyways. I've a feeling lots of players will be rested between now and the Chelsea games.
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

******s... great consistancy shown by the FA

At least he didn't get an extended ban for a 'frivilous' appeal.

                They are protecting Bennett.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

And not one other player sent off for disent since.

Is this because we`re being unfairly targeted or because every player has seen the incident and learned not to dissent to the REF?

It was because like all ill thought through FA initiatives bought in half way through a season it last about a week until everyone realises that it is ludicrous to alter the rules half way through the season without telling anyone before hand. All referees involved in the **** up get absolved in order to serve the FA/referees association any blushes. This is particularly true of things like this where the initiative was blown up by the media and they know that the press won't call them on the stupidity of it all as it would make them look like ****wits too.

On the bright side both Lucas and Plessis did good last week, so between them and Gerrard and Xabi, I'm sure we can find two midfielders.

                      Maybe an opening for Nemeth
