I have a question for the statto's out there.

Am I right in thinking that if the games go into extra time and both teams score one more goal each, the game will not go to penalties as away goals still count double?

As far as I am aware, away goals count double in extra time as well as full time, so the answer to your question is yes.

That is what I thought as it has always annoyed me that one team gets 120 mins to score away goals and the other only gets 90.

I was just not sure if this had been changed for this season.

Good point. Of course this time round it will be us who will possibly get the extra time to score an away goal, so who cares!

0-0 is an OK result as shown by the Arsenal v Milan game, If we drew 0-0 any score draw and obviously win would take us through.
              We come not to play.

Whilst I would be happier with the return leg at Anfield, it is true that any sort of draw at home is a decent result as one goal away from home and they have to score two.

As the game on Tuesday night showed, it can make you a nervous wreck constantly worrying about the opposition nicking one!

Of course all this is dependent on us improving our dreadful away scoring record at Stamford Bridge.

My second least favorite ground. I hate going there in fact the reason I am in Norway at the minute is because of that ground and our 4-2 defeat in the FA cup.

That defeat forced you to flee to Norway? Tell us more!

I was annoyed with my job as a trainee accountant and the result pis***d me off so much I got talked into joining the Army.

11 years later I am sat here on exercise, never a dull moment tho. There have been two robberies suspected to be armed in the local area (one on the petrol station next to the camp) and the police have traced the people responsible to the camp we are on. We are all confined to the buildings until they have been caught!

In some ways it's swings and roundabouts because when it comes to a penalty shoot out the home team would have the advantage of having the crowd behind them.
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

Yeah but we have the Penalty save king (except when playing Portsmouth)

I've taken results badly before, but never so bad I've been talked into joining the army!
