Confirmation in the press. Shame they've used the term "fed up" though. We've never used that term ourselves.

Alun, did you see last weeks Huyton Star? There was an article about the backing of local MP's with a lovely picture of yourself.

Btw why the **** was/is Meijer such a cult hero with Lpool fans?
I remember him as being a bit of a flop, nothing more, nothing less.

Coz he worked his balls off & was always up for it

Average (at best) player to be fair but always gave 100% whether in his occasional substitute appearances or in the reserves

Always spoke very highly of the club & was in Istanbul as a fan
At a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly

Basically because it was just like one of us playing for the club. We knew he was lucky to be there , he knew he was lucky to be there and he just played every game (including reserve games) like he was in the European Cup Final.

Then in Dortmund he appears in the main square in a suit with a Fowler top on signing his head off and his legend grew even further.

erik's attitude was fab, plus he was mad as a hatter. and then to top it all off he was there in dortmund drinking and singing with the liverpool fans even though he'd left the club.
