Have to agree. At the moment I'd have him over Babel to start, Babel always seems to play better when he comes on later. He gives up far too easy for me.

He had a stormer of a second half though, great individual goal and a pinpoint cross for Torres to head in.

Torres was very quiet but a sign of a good striker is he scores when he's not at his best, just like against Arsenal the other night.

Alonso had a good game but got tired and sloppy towards the end.

Lucas had a mare in the first half but picked it up after the break, passing was nice and sharp.

Benayoun was brilliant when he came on, made a big difference with his movement off the ball and intelligence. Knows exactly when and where to release the ball.

Decent performance overall and a very valuable three points.

I agree with most of that Marky lad, but what I'd really like to pick up on is my disappointment with Gerrard's willingness to go to ground too easily in the box. Something I'd rather not see to be honest. To me it casts a shadow over what was a very good individual performance from him.

Also disappointed with his corner flag antics at the end.

Did Torres set a record today? I remember in the Everton game when he scored that the commentator said something about equallig a record of scoring in 6 straight home games. So he must of beat the record today.

Aye, thought they were gonna frustrate us again, but we kept plugging away.

Yossi, Stevie & Dirky were ace. At 91 mins, Dirky still running twice as hard as anyone else & making things happen.

            Now... ARSENAL! ARSENAL!! ARSENAL!!!
            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
We didn't do the above at the start of the season, we do that now and it really shows.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

If this doesn't send a message to Rafa and the Board about value for money, and you get what you pay for, then nothing will. No more potential, no more nothing buys: 2-3 more quality players who are ready for the 1st team now and we'll have a 1st 11 who will be able to compete for the title.

Great Result, Yossi looking really really fresh, as if the season has just begun, Kuyt, say no more, A good all round effort.

Ah Torres & Gerrard, The Dynamic Duo reborn, what a pairing we have, what prospects for the future if all around them can be as efficient & as high in quality. Bring it on.
