Torres goal scoring earns more money for Athletico madrid

Fernando Torres has earned Atletico Madrid a €250,000 (£200,000) bonus thanks to the goal he scored against Blackburn.

The Spanish press have revealed that an option included in the striker’s contract demands The Reds pay £200,000 to Atletico every time he scores a series of 15 goals.

That is the second time Rafa Benitez’s club have had to pay the bonus to the Spanish club this season, as El Nino has scored 30 goals in all competitions in the famous red shirt.

It has also been claimed Atleti have earned another £200,000 from The Reds, as he has appeared more than 25 times in The Premier League

Surely there has to be a timescale involved with this. We'll end up paying them a fortune otherwise.

Hopefully we will end up paying a fortune over his LFC career. Perhaps these stories about the transfer being 16M pound are right then if there are these sort of add ons? If Torres scores 30 a season for the next 7 years thats only another 2.8 M pounds. Worth every penny as someone else said. A 200 goal player for less than 20M is great business.

As mentioned its not really a lot is it? 400k for 30 goals a season I'll take that.

In fairness, he should have cost over £30 million so...

                  Goals equals wins

Wins equals cups or leagues (fingers crossed)

                  Cups or leagues equals money

                  Worth every penny.

It'll be a set number of goals, like 400k per 15 goals up to 45 or something. Noone would sign an open ended contract.
