Let's not take Arsenal out of the equation just yet (not for the title) but for second place. Larger slice of CL money is second place and Chelsea will still want to keep hold of that position. But we should thrash the chavs just for letting scum win another f*cking title!!

slightly off tipic but its emerged on this thread. i've made a decision about the mancs and their success.

i do not want to see them win the league ever but this season and last i've found my self getting anxious about them equalling/overtaking our 18titles. but lately i've realised we have to accept two things to stop ourselves going mad - which is what the mancs would want isnt it.

1. they have built a real 'bastion of invincibility' in the prem whether we like it or not. Can't equal us internationally so technically our dominance was european whilst theirs only domestic but they have been the side of the 90's and 00's just as we were the 70s and 80s. they've earned it.

2. its our own fault. well moores & parry predominantly but we have just not been good enough from the top down. thats why we havent progressed and won a few titles. why arsenal and chelsea challenging before we do? we've been far too complacent and lethargic.

so whilst i dread to think of us not being the most successful team in the country's history. there's really nothing to moan about. if the mancs overtake us, they will deserve it and perhaps us being 'knocked off our perch' is what it takes to finally overhaul things and get of this staid 'but we're liverpool' bollocks that has made us complacent.

As for chelsea, I am not as optimistic as in the past but you never know. I feel they are really up for this and we'll see a better chelsea team than we have in the past. we'll have to stop them playing and nick the goal as we usually do but I cannot see us dominating and playing champagne football.

we need a 2 goal lead going into the second leg i think.
