    I think he has been a real boon there - basically I think that Kuyt and Gerrard have both been moved around as Rafa sought to find the best way to play within the ideas he wants to use as the backbone of the team. I think Kuyt at least as an option here for the long haul now - his work rate in my opinion pretty much guarantees it and he has scored some important goals of late too.

      We all know rafa likes to get players with different qualities, he maybe only seen Pennant as a stop gap player until he managed to get the players needed for the new system.
