The loan, 100% of it, is against the club so of course we could be forced to sell of players to pay for it if the civil war is still going on.

We don't know if the loan to buy Torres and Babel was used using them as security.

It's all a big ****ing mess.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

tbh im disappointed by the sensationalist slant of kay's article this time. he doesnt usually push that but 'sell torres and babel' to meet repayments is cr@p. Unless they are explicitly listed as assets to be sold and even then, we'd sell others before these loans were called in. what a load of cr@p.

we know they were bought with loans and we know the rest of the story.

See Blackys post above, explains it well really

So a combination of a bull**** headline and rehash of other stories. Great.

What a load of crap. I respect Kay but this is terrible journalism. Why Torres? Why doesn't he say Mascherano (who will presumably been bought with borrowed funds too) or Gerrard (one of our true AAA players)?

A loan can't be secured on a human being (not sure about the contract though).

Wouldn't TV revenue, Champions League money, new sponsors (sorry didn't mean that, we only have three) cover £31.5m? I just don't see Torres being sold and if so, he would be worth £31.5m himself

It's a pity, thought Kay was better than that.

The problem is that the loan to pay for Torres and Babel is a separate loan, we will pay £2.8m/year in interest on that loan and pay back the £31.5m after 18 months.

Its pressure on Hicks, to put or shut up. That 90 day veto is coming to an end soon and with six banks refusing Hicks financial backing, we might see DIC becoming part owners of the club.

Hicks says he loves the city, the club (the same bull****) but under the current climate, he can't get there. I wonder why.

Seems so. But I bought a new HD TV on credit last year. If I run out of money and can't pay for it, I'll sell the wife to raise cash for the TV, not lose the TV.

The TV is important and you would probably get more for the wife.

I wanna know what is goin on here. I agree the loan is not secured on Torres, but it is secured on the club which is worse. This is looking like Hicks is getting financial advice from Peter Ridsdale here, and while the article may not be groundbreaking, the truth is that the scenario is becoming more and more realistic.
How are we gonna buy players in the summer?; Secure another loan perhaps!, Sell Players? Who knows.

                                Actually, I'm not so sure.
