I fail to see how anyone could have an issue with him.

If you lost in the CL final then you'd be pretty pissed off too and his emotions got the better of him. I love Gerrard but had we lost in Istanbul I have no doubt he would have walked.
I'm not saying he doesn't come over like a nice guy off the pitch and I'm sure he is, but after the CL final he came out with all that stuff a couple of days later as well, so it wasn't just spur of the moment emotional stuff which would be very understandable.
He said that Arsenal had been "cheated" out of the victory, which was total nonsense.

I can well believe he does a lot of charity work etc and he certainly seems to be the antithesis of the image of the modern greedy Peremiership player, just don't listen to his post match interviews!

Liverpool in new tapping up scandal involving Arsenal star
By Sack the Juggler | Related entries in Uncategorized

The BBC has sensationally accused Liverpool of tapping up Arsenal’s favourite son, Thierry Henry. Apparently they used a young scallywag as a go between. The FA and EUFA are investigating the incident. Here is a transcript of the secret video which was taken at Bob Wilson’s charity, the Willow Foundation.

“A kid asked me on Wednesday if I would have liked to play for another team,” the Arsenal and France striker said yesterday. “Straight away I said Liverpool.

“First of all, I would have loved to play with Steven Gerrard and second I like the club and their fans. There’s something about Anfield that you can’t explain.

“I love it when you step out of the dressing-room and you see the Kop, the scarves, and singing You’ll Never Walk Alone. Just that, that would do it for me.

“Obviously it can never happen because I love Arsenal too much. There can never be a possibility of playing anywhere else in England.”

You lost. Lose gracefully. Don't come on camera straight off blaming the ref and every other ****er.

                Yawn.

I agree - that, and his behaviour at the WC

I dont believe he wasn't charged or something for saying that the ref might as well have been wearing a Barca shirt.

Looked to me like the ref did them a huge favour - disallowing a Barca goal and sending Lehmann off. If Henry had taken his chances on the night, Arsenal would have been comfortable winners.
