I agree it's time for a bit of a shake-up. Lets get rid of some of the monosyllabic clowns that get into punditry fresh out of the BBC's media school. I rarely find Sky's analysis interesting or insightful and there's not many at the Beeb who I care about.

Ian Wright has said as much, thats why he quit doing England games.

I think Thommo would be great to have in the studio instead of on Soccer Saturday and there's bound to be a few more.

In fairness, apart from Carlton "I'll tell yer what Stoobbsaay..." Palmer the BBC's pundits are class compared to Sky's and ITV's, and I'm not just saying that because I've hero-worshiped Jocky for nearly 30 years.

The thing to understand with Dunphy though, is that he flip-flops on his evaluations of certain players with amazing regularity..
When denouncing Ronaldo before, for his lack of big-game impact, he brought up the performance Stevie gave in Istanbul as an example of how great players take games by the scruff of the neck..

Giles has Gerrard summed up years before anyone copped on........he is the prime example of the attacking impact player, who's pure drive and mentality can drag Liverpool to victory more often than not. Amazing talent, but he doesn't control games from midfield in a traditional way.
Personally I cannot argue with that and I find it laughable when I see the vast majority of pundits continually going on about how Gerrard's best position is in the central midfield. They're just voicing the same crap they hear everyone else saying..
At least Giles has an amazing grasp on Gerrard's best assets......IMO of course..

Obviously I was excluding Hansen. The Beeb could do with getting rid of drones like Lee Dixon though.

Agreed he can be a bit dull but I've never wanted to hit him. Gray and Townsend though...
