    The boss seems happy.

Rafa Benitez is confident he enjoyed a positive meeting with Liverpool's owners to discuss transfer targets for next season.

The recent boardroom turmoil involving American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett has created concerns about Benitez's ability to plan for the future.

Hicks, who recently branded chief executive Rick Parry's tenure a 'disaster', met the Liverpool boss this week to discuss targets.

Benitez declined to comment on the battle for power in the boardroom, but feels it was a productive meeting.

"You know we have two owners and a chief executive," said Benitez on Sky Sports News.

"We need to progress - my responsibility is to prepare the squad for the future and to improve the squad. So, I like to talk to them.

"We were talking about targets and things like this. It was good.

"We were talking about how to improve and progress because it's important to sign the right players for the future.

"After the meeting we are trying to progress with some targets. Last week we were doing this and this week it's the same. I think we will be stronger next season."
**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

    I love Rafa, a lot.

I said it a long time ago that he is the best I have seen when it comes to the media. Just remember..... he is getting better.

He turned our fortunes around so well this year and has, IMO, taken control of the club before it self destructed, possibly. Big call I know but it wasn't looking good.

    Well in Rafa
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Thought what Rafa said about Parry was positive too, adding that "Rick Parry would be working hard too", sort of put's Hicks attempts to get rid of him in their place.

We all know it's Parry's vote on the board that is ultimately important, seems Rafa is content for him to stay for now. Ha Ha Hicks.

Rafa has them by the bollocks at the moment and I hope he squeezes hard to get what he wants. He has put up with so much crap this year and to achieve what he has is nothing short of sensational. Lesser men would have been broken and its a tribute to him, his staff, and the squad that they've done as well as they have considering.

Make no mistake, he is a highly sought after Manager and he could walk into most if not any job in the football world.I wish him and our team all the success in the world. It would be great to see the 'Rafatollah' make an appearence on Wednesday night.
"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.

I have to say, in a world where owners rule the roost and do what they like (Abramovich, for example), the scenario rafa is now in, and has helped create, is frankly, superb. It's funny as feck that you've got these two rich yanks owning the club, yet somehow, rafa's kinda pulling the strings.
