    Crouch on Wednesday

Anybody else think that Peter should play on Wednesday night?

One of the most striking things to come out of the first leg is that we need to keep Torres away from that carthorse Terry as much as possible. The lad is going to get seriously hurt for one, but if he gets the space we know he can be a weapon.

So I would like to see Crouchinio used to divert attention from El Nino. Terry - being the taller and stronger of their centre back pairing - will have to mark Pete instead of Nando, and whenever the two have played together Crouchy has been able to knock some balls onto Torres.

If we stick with the 4-5-1 we might as well not play Torres. Chelski will just bumrush him all night - again - and our biggest threat will be nullified. Pretty much the same thing happened against Arsenal. Torres got little service and was ****ted all over the park by Senderos. Bar the latter's ineptitude Torres probably wouldn't have got on the end of that bounce and buried the shot that put us in front. Carvalho and Terry are much less likely to **** up quite so badly.

So yeah ... Big Pete to risk his bones for us on Wednesday to let Torres loose on those ****bags? Yes please

Who would you have in midfield?

I was thinking 442 the other night and i think it'd shock them. They're preparing for 4231 and this would disrupt their plans.

Furthermore, it's almost the law that Stevie doesnt have a major impact when we play one of the 'big four' so stick him back in midfield, it wont matter.

would deffo go 442 on wednesday would put gerrard on the left and play crouch with torres as i feel chelsea`s back 4 will just sit deep and not give nando any space to get in behind

yeah thats what i was thinking ... stick stevie in the midfield, maybe even on the right. xabi and mascher played well the other day.

in fact, i would be tempted to have xabi sitting and allow javier to bomb forward like he does for the national team. stevie on the right, but with licence to roam.

and i probably wouldn't start babel. always plays like **** when he starts and doesn't look hard enough to deal with the rough stuff. riise on the left or benayoun.

and then if riise plays in midfield i would play arbeloa or carra left back and bring sami in

I think there is a pretty decent chance that we will take a risk on wednesday and play 442 with Gerrard at left mid.

Its a tough call, you either play 442 and go for goals or stick to 4231 and play a very tight game and try to dominate possession

Wouldnt stick SG on the left at all, although he'd terrorise Ferreira, thinking about it...if he actually realised that he was playing there and didnt keep coming into the middle.

                Hmm...

That was a rare exception to the rule.

When did he last have a major influence (in our favour) vs the mancs or chelsea?

Last season at Stamford Bridge he terrorised the full back and could/should have scored at least 2.

What was the actual tangible outcome of his performance though?
