        cancelling mine tomorrow
        Imagine the mass exodus of footy fans from Setanta around now !!

        cancelled Sky yesterday, been member since 1991, worked out I've paid over £6,000

        they offered me a brand new Sky+ box plus installation for only £40 but told them I'm happy with freeview and haven't missed Sky channels since my box has been on the blink (which the *******s wouldn't sort for me at the time )

          It might just have been the weather (although it wasn't raining that heavily at the time) but Setanta went off air with about three minutes left of the Old Firm derby on Sunday.

          Seeing as I was watching it in an Irish pub in Liverpool packed full of Celtic fans, it didn't go down too well!

            I cancelled this morning using the 01915013601 number. No problems whatsoever. I think they know it'll happen this time of year and be gearing up for what they can offer next season.

              I cancelled today and it took about 30 minutes on hold and 10 minutes of fending off offers from the CSRs. I wish I'd have heard of the 0191 number in advance.

                I cancelled today citing the fact I wasn't made aware of the 30-day notice period when I signed up as the reason for leaving.

                I waited five minutes for the first discussion (where I turned down an offer of £5 a month for three months) and I was then put on hold so someone else could actually cancel the subscription. After another five minutes' wait on hold the line went dead.

                So I phoned back, pressed the "new subscriber" option and got through almost immediately. I then told them I wanted to cancel and I didn't want to be put on hold. She got someone over to cancel the subscription and I still refused to be put on hold while she did it. After about a minute of hearing her tapping on her keyboard that was it.

                I hate call centres. Still it would be worse to work in one.
