I asked this question only the other day and was advised that the team he is on loan with wanted to buy him for £1m but we asked for £4m and there hasn't been much talk since. Also was said that he hasn't been playing all the time either and has been on the bench recently

It is but he has been out of the side of late (no idea why). I think it could be a good move if we have a recall clause. I think a big problem with Carson was he failed to get games as he developed as a keeper which would again be a problem for this guy as Reina would be a clear number one.

There is also talk of us buying Harper from Newcastle on the BBC gossip column.

His contract will be extended. The loan will be until 2010, by that point he'll be eligable for a Dutch passport, there for no work permit issues.
