'I hope we don't win tonight'

No seriously, I've heard this unbelievably stupid statement from so called Liverpool supporters.

No I don't know about anybody else's feelings on this matter but when it comes to Liverpool FC, I want them to win every time, Charity Shield, Pre season friendly's, reserve games, the lot. Its what is commonly known as supporting your club.

If these nay sayers don't want us to win tonight, well I'm sorry its time to move on, this is not the kind of liverpool supporter I've grown up with.

I've been following this great club of ours since 1973 and quite frankly I find this kind of thing absolutely absurd.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tannhäuser Gate.
Liverpool Football Club come back from 3 nil down in Istanbul and win.

Yes that's an entirely different matter. I'd also rather go out tonight than lose to them in the final. I think every single one of us would.

In my workplace, and one guy is a regular at matches, beggars belief

Agree. The point of phrasing it this way is that with hindsight we'd rather lose tonight, but as fas as I can see, no-one is saying we want to lose tonight...
His armband proved he was a RED. Torres, Torres.

Some people just say ill-advised rubbish when they are thoroughly ****ting themselves. If Torres banged one in in the last minute I'd bet my life that they'd be jumping round the room maniacally like the rest of us.

Why fear them ? It's been well documented that we might have an inferiority complex when we've faced them recently, so that would send the wrong signals again.

IF we're in the final tonight and lose to them, tough luck. Just think of what will happen if we beat them though. The plusses of beating them far outweigh the negatives IMO.

                        I hope we don't win either. I'm hoping for a 2-2 draw!!

It's not fear mate. I want to win and I want to beat the Mancs in the final. It's just, as stated above, if we were to reach the final and lose, then we would rather have just gone out in the semis and saved ourselves the heartache.

Have to agree with shaggy. If we lost to united in the final i could never live with it for the rest of my life.

Its clear that they would rather play us than chelsea as they've done us twice this season and fergie has the 'wood' on us and benitez.

All runs come to an end though and maybe it starts tonight with chelsea and ends in moscow.
