Away to Reading in the league is not a big game compared to a Champion's League semi final and the circumstances surrounding that were a lot different.
I'd argue that if you have genuine hopes of winning the title, every league game has to be seen as a big game, given the relatively small margin of error you can afford.

I just hope Nando isnt going down the same road as Owen, with regards to injury - hamstrings are sensitive and open to recurring problems.

Aside from Torres, i dont know why he played Kuyt as the lone striker, and had Babel wide. Kuyt is neither quick, nor strong enough to play that role

So winning at Reading and then in Marseille were mutually exclusive?

if he'd played Torres/Gerrard, et al for the whole game, and they both got injured in the 91st minute, thus missing the champions league game, everyone would have been squeeling like a stuffed pig.

he started with a full team, then took off our better players.

              no complaints from me.

oh, and that was one of four defeats this season in the league.

got any complaints about that as well anyone - i mean, obviously 4 defeats too many, seeing as us, Liverpool, shouldn't lose any.
              Reece, get off my wife.:whatever:

There was such a minimal chance of them getting injured though.

                  It's a tough one though.

He had 2 substitutions to make and he brought Pennant on for yossi and Babel on for an injured Torres. Maybe he could have brought Babel on for Yossi and then Crouch for Torres but Pennant has been on fire the past 2 league games.

I think the Babel for Torres one was a no brainer tbh.

Not but we were 2 goals behind when he took them off.

Spot ****ing on. Until that point he had put the league ahead of the CL.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

The side we put out was more than capable of winning and Torres did play a large portion of the game and was ineffective.

Maybe I'm over reacting but we should be in the final.

Rafa has done nothing wrong, Torres looked ****ed out there. Babel added pace and enthusiasm.....and scored a ****ing goal.

Im getting really ****ing tired of the **** on this site after a difficult loss.

Name one player in the world that's going to effective playing alone up front, with Terry and Carvalho kicking lumps out of him all game??

In games like last nights one, Torres needs a partner. And for this reason alone, Crouch should have been used more often this season.
