can someone explain to me why half the people on est want to see liverpool play a 442 formation? when we have played 442 this year we haven't exactly looked threatening or won a great deal of games from what i can remember. yet since rafa has reverted to his preferred 4231 formation we have step up a gear, won a considerable amount of games and looked more threatening/comfortable. IMO 4231 is the way to go in the future or if we need to 433.

4-2-3-1 is basically 4-4-2 with more attacking wingers and a slightly deeper striker anyway

The fact that Voronin continues to get into match day sixteens may indicate that Rafa feels he has a role to play next season.

Honestly, i wanted to see us with Babel and Gerrard on the wings today with Crouch and Torres up top together. Just to see how they get on 1 more time

adios crouch, pennent and riise.....

as rafa has said in previous times, sometimes he has had to go for his second choice, or back-up plan players when dealing in the transfer market in recent years.... pennent and crouch had a couple of seasons of effective "trials" at the club to prove they could hack it but in my view, they were never rafa's number 1 choices.... and riise is just plain gone to ****.....

from what i've seen at the start of the season when rafa tried torres with kyut/voronin/crouch as partners not one of them had the quick thinking or movement to compliment torres. they all seemed about three gears slower and it showed. since gerard has moved into the 2nd strikers position torres has found a partner with the same brain speed as him on the pitch. the only way i'd be happy to revert to a 442 is if we bought high calibre strikers next season like etoo or villa who IMO would compliment the style torres plays. we have to build the team around him he is that good.
