      says rafa....

i actually think that if agger had played for the season, then some of our draws would have certainly been turned into wins and then who knows.... put it this way, i feel that we defended, at times, far too deep but it was purely based on the fact that hyypia could have been caught out pace-wise.... one example would have been the home draw with spurs.....

also, agger used to start a lot of counter attacks himself and also scored a fair few....

come on danny lad, get a good pre-season under your belt and prove that you are one of the best defenders in the business.....

Been saying that myself all season. And a few wins at the right time would have made a helluva difference to the confidence of the players.
        Forwards.......

Agger and Skrtel are the future

And possibly Huth and San Jose after them

              Ag(ge)ree completely.

I think the zonal thing might have been applied a little better too.
              Oh I don't know.

Excellent news. Hopefully his recovery is taken slowly given his history this year. Just in time to peak for the new season, we'll be well sorted in central defence.

Proper good news this... Can't wait for him to get back, he'll be like a new signing in his own right and we all know he's already quality without having to get a season under his belt first..!!
His armband proved he was a RED. Torres, Torres.

Agger is a different class in terms of bringing the ball out of defence and was getting better at it week on week so much so that he was using his pace to go past the opp. forwards and start attacks, sometimes getting in and around the penalty area!

Hyypia had a great season for us, but he simply cannot do these things.

As for San Jose after a slow start for us I think he is looking a very good prospect, his reading of the game was very good on weds and was up against a some tough players for reserve level

Good news indeed. The future is very bright with regards to Centre Halves. Skrtel and Agger will form one hell of a partnership and I can see San Jose making a claim within the next season or two. Carragher will also be around for a few seasons yet.

Makes a change from the early days of Rafa's reign when we were so short of cover in this position.

i for one would love to see a three man defence against the smaller teams, go at them attack them win 4 -0, 5 -0

skittles on the right(good on the ball can take it out of defence at pace)
carra in the centre (carra is carra nuff said)
agger (again another good footballer who can bring the ball out at pace)

Just look at the face: it's vacant, with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet.
