personally I'm of the opinion that he's not the sharpest knife in the draw and he'll need someone with a bit more intelligence to be a number 2

Good to have someone represent Liverpool and the old boot room.

we should never have let him go in the first place.

Given our lack of $ resources sammy lee could prove to be invaluable as a motivator and coach and someone who can help school the youngsters and newer players about LFC and help rafa build a champion team

I think rafa has wanted him since he got the chop at Bolton and I wouldn't at all be surprised if Rafa had encouraged alex Miller to take the japanese job in order to free up a space on the coaching staff.

It would be good to see Sammy back and it is good to see Miller go as well as he really didnt have much to offer

What is that assessment based on?

Miller is nothing more than a Scottish journeyman coach, basicaly he has achieved **** all in footballing terms. I used to shake my head with bewilderment everytime I saw him on the Liverpool bench during games

But Rafa chose to promote him from chief scout and has kept him in a job despite a lot of other changes in the coaching department. The fact that Miller hasn't been a huge managerial success which I believe most of his other roles have been does not necessarily say anything about his coaching IMO - much as Sammy Lee's failure at Bolton doesn't about his.
