He'll go for £7million, which is fine. We'll have lost nothing on him which makes a nice change.

The £15million malarky is posturing by Rafa, selling a £15million rated player for £7million will seem like a bargain for whoever buys him, and secretly Rafa will be more than satisfied to have £7million to play with.

I'd lay my house on it

**** him the prick never ever good enough for us in the first place. It is buying players like him over the years that have seen us slide and the mancs slowly taking over. **** THE PRICK

No it's not. It'll be recouping his transfer fee, for a player with 2 years on his contract. A player who is unhappy and who is surplus to requirements, something which is plain to see.

Apart from anything else, £7million is what he's probably worth.

Really interesting quote by Rafa on the official site

Although Liverpool will end the season wihtout a trophy, Benitez is convinced that some of the difficulties the Reds have faced, both on and off the field of play, has helped him to learn more about the character of his squad and whether the players have the mentality to thrive and succeed at such a high profile club.

He said: "When you have a difficult season like this one I think you get to know people better.

"You know who you can trust and who can help you and for me that has been one of the best things about the season – I now know everyone better than I did before and that means we will be able to improve more in the future because I have more information."

you're right crouch will never be a lead striker in a premiership winning team. but at least he's a premiership level striker unlike voronin and kuyt who had far more chances than crouch did.

we need a striker, rafa should either buy someone the quality of torres or not bother. he has the money regardless of takeover from player sales.

it seems alonso's off for at least 15 million, crouch for 7, pennant 4, riise, 3, carson 8, guthrie 2, even yosii for 4 or 5.

he has close to potentially 50 odd million and we're being linked with **** and central midfielders.

Relax buddy. Most of Rafa's signings have been complete mysteries and a fair few of them have turned out pretty well. Remember smokescreens and ignore the media until the players have signed.

I'm pretty optimistic that he'll get a decent transfer budget this summer, the yanks have a massive amount to prove and will be trying very very hard to get the backing of the fans.

I love Rafa to bits but i am gutted that we have not made progress in the league under him. Now some will argue we have but the league doesn't lie we are 4th and the highest we have been under Rafa is 3rd. Oh well its over now until next season but i am not too hopeful of us making a fight for the title. Until DIC come in we will not make progress under these parasites. As we are being linked to Barry who according to some will be our biggest buy united are linked to berbetov and chelsea messi ect.

7m is a woeful price for a striker , especially as he's engligh and pretty good

Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

BTW The People is notorious for doing deals with agents/players. Looks to me like they've put this out to force us to put our price down. I can't see Crouchie buying out his contract, this is probably aimed at getting us to bring the price down to £9m-£12m, which I think we'd sell at.

Wenger the other day going on about Hleb, and saying its not as easy as it seems and it could take months, and bearing in mind crouch wants to play games it would be ironic to see him not playing a single minute for 6 mths why it all went through
