Fernando Torres pays tribute to China’s earthquake victims

magnitude earthquake toppled buildings, schools and chemical plants Monday in central China, killing more than 50000 people and trapping untold numbers in mounds of concrete, steel and earth in the country’s worst quake in three decades.

Liverpool football star Fernando Torres prayed for the safety of the earthquake victims in Southern China. He’s holding a banner saying “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, hoping that the people in China could stay strong.

It is a good gesture, it looks like the picture was taken by someone holding him hostage tho are there any chinese readers who can confirm that it is not a ransom note he is holding up?

It's true though, the miserable look on his face, the darkened room etc

It is the white sheet hung up behind him that makes me suspicious

I love Fernando as much as the next man, but doesn't this seem awfully tokenistic and slightly bizarre?

The bottom one looks like a Torres look-a-like. In any case it's a nice gesture, if a little puzzling on the whole.

He`s started a ball rolling, hell be a busy man for the next ten yrs, let`s hope he says "****" on TV soon.Sir Fernando will soon be on stage with Geldof and Bono.

A Simple statement would have showed his support. We` all feel for them. The poster things while praying were too much IMHO.
