Babel's fitness has always been a problem, I mean has he even completed a full 90 mins for us?
I was hoping that with a full pre-season behind him we'd see a better Ryan Babel next season.

Very good points, this may well inhibit his PL development another season.

Aye, we need to start signing players with no pedigree, ones who won't get picked for their national sides, thus reducing the risks of injury outside of the LFC environment. A much safer option i reckon.

Worst thing that could happen to the lad.
Pre-season was going to be a must for Babel & Lucas if they're going to contend this season - I suspect another slow start to the season now, leaving us playing catch up.

I think going to the Euros would have really helped his development. He is a lad that clearly needs all the confidence he can get, playing in a high profile tournament is exactly what he needed.

I think Babel is all about development at the moment. He certainly has the potential to to offer a hell of a lot if he & his coaches can sort it out. If his fitness, mentality, game balance & decision making can be improved gradually over the next 2-3 seasons we should have a great player on our hands...& he will still only be 24!
