Has rafa sold his soul to the devil ?

With the recent speculation regarding the possible acquisition of a top named player possibly David Villa, could it be that Rafa has urged tom hicks to splash the cash on someone that would take the heat off hicks and his reign ?

Has rafa told hicks that the only way to repair the damage him and gillett have caused is to go out and buy a superstar player to calm down the natives? That this purchase would make fans see him in a different light?

Has rafa made a deal with hicks ?

    or even this...

David Villa has not got the aura of Fernando Torres or the marketing deals of Cristiano Ronaldo. He is not protected by a group of assistants like Thierry Henry nor does he appear on the cover of a large number of football games like Ronaldinho. In fact, unlike most of the best recognised players on the planet, he answers the phone when you need to chat to him and talks away as if nothing has changed: as if the conversation is about a game played in the park with his mates. He is about to make the jump into the top tier of clubs which will give him the universal approval he deserves. When he does he will still be a regular guy, but one with a very special talent.

Could this really make us see hicks in a more sypathetic light ?

i really see us being out bid for him - if indeed we were ever in for him

I wasn't gonna post this but **** it, all I know is that when i ask a contact before about Barry he told me that Villa is still the top target. Basically the yanks see him as a Torres type investment that would hopefully sell the club more commercially.

At the end of the day did you think this time last year we would sign Torres, well we will see what happens with Villa. Lets get things straight he wants to come here and Rafa wants him, the club knows this and i know for defo they have inquired about his price with a bid, which Valencia did not like the terms.

Back to the drawing board, but here's hoping or do we really have to hope lets see, i vote for the later?

Rafa will do what it takes to get the best players he can.If that means spinning Tom a yarn then so be it.Rafa knows nothing can turn the tide for Hicks and Gillette

Hicks and Gillett have burned all bridges. I guess tapping up Villa will require an amount of 20 mp from the owners. This would prob be enough as we have sold a couple of players as well and that's all they'll give us this summer (if we're extremely lucky). Anyway it's all loan.

Praise him for that? **** no..

The Villa thing seems to be Gathering pace.Shanks legend has said we're in for him,SNFT on here said we'd have one of europes top strikers by the end of the month and now Ballague is making noises about us having a nice surprise in store.

                  Heres hoping

I registred what SL wrote a couple of weeks ago. In fact its only shanks who has been saying this. Both Balague and Barret said the opposite.

                    I can't wait though

Except "he" won't be buying us Villa, the banks will be putting the money up and "we" will be paying for it in the longterm.

Well, if laurel and Hardy start to get their act together and fulfil their promises, giving us the players we need to suceed, and start working together and stop all the bull****, things will be better all round.

So if the highly conjective scenario is true that Rafa as swung the deal this way, I don't see it as a bad thing. He'd just be making the most of a ****ty situation and trying to patch it all up.

And if we do get a team together which gets us in the running for the PL next season I think we should see him in a more sympathetic light.

The whole loan thing is a ****er, but realistically, it was bound to happen as soon as we were bought by yank businessmen. And it's not really hurt the scum that much.

is it such a major disopointment to the G&H haters that raffa has taken this route, dose this now mean if its true that the haters are gonna turn on raffa all because he wants to improve the team, and really would it be such a shame if the yankies do bring in 1 or 2 top quality players to try to get the fans off there backs....

for some it will never be enough for me iam delighted if it turns out to be true, raffa is right to do it and improve the team but hey hicks and co are dammed if they dont sign anyone and dammed if they do...

no matter who owns the club it will always be us at the end of the day who pay for it all. it is a delusion to believe any other owner would pay for transfers with his own money just for the fun of it. stop dreaming and start give the devil his due otherwise it will be you who looks like a fool, mate.

I don`t have much problem with the club taking up loans for players.
What I do have a problem with is the club paying for the loans G&H used to buy the club.
                              It`s two very different things.
