A report in The Times this week claims that one of either Tom Hicks or George Gillett is open to the idea of selling Fernando Torres to Chelsea "for the right price".
Having this week posted their accounts to Companies House, which revealed a staggering £1.529m worth of expenses, as well as an inter-company loan of £64m (which some reports suggest may make the club responsible for the interest repayments), it now appears that at least one of the owners may test the patience of Liverpool fans further.
The report states that: "Chelsea have been told that one of the Americans is willing to let Torres go for the right price and are planning to test Liverpool's resolve with a bid."
Specifically which owner this is referring to is anyone's guess (although the consent of both would be required for a sale to go through).
