All I can say is I hope the likes of Milner, Downing, Riera, Kenwyne Jones, Barry & Bentley are all smokescreens for other players. I would rather we spent nothing & keep what we have as the above players will NOT improve our squad at all, with the exception of Barry & Bentley but the reason I've included them is because of their price tags. I mean they are very good players but their clubs seem to value them in the 15 million plus bracket! So if they are valued at that price Stevie G should be valued at 100 million pounds as he is in a different league to Barry & Bentley. Anyway if I was Rafa I would tell Villa & Blackburn to sod off & look elsewhere to strengthen the team.
Also Newcastle want 9 million pounds for Milner - for that price I would rather keep Pennant as he is just as good as Milner...
I just hope all these players are smokescreens for others!

Then will be the time to form your opinion.
The only thing that I will say, is that if you look back at who we were linked with last year, no one saw Nando coming, did they.

The only player we have been seriously linked to is Barry who will be replacing Alonso in what will probably be close transfer fees. The real question will be will he make a bigger impact on the team than Alonso. I honestly dont know but well willing to give him a fair go, if nothing else it will give us a very happy captain.
The other reports have no basis and I dont know why people are throwing their toys out of the pram over internet rumours and newspaper talk. I would love us to sign Villa but until its confirmed I wont be going out and getting his number on my back just like I wont be worrying what papers like the scum are telling us we are buying.

You are 100% correct. I hope all of the main transfer stories involving Liverpool are garbage, apart from the Riise one. We shall see.

I'm not too bothered about what is being said in the press, it suits the club to have everyone saying we're skint. I'd still expect us to be spending at least £40m as we should be getting about £30m+ for Crouch, Alonso, Carson, Riise. And whatever anyone says the Yanks will have to let us spend more than we bring in or else they'll be even less welcome than they are at the moment, after all the talk of working capital etc
