You may be right, but any resemblance of a family club will disappear up their collective corporate arses.

Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

That happened the day Moore sold his family jewels.

Well, the advantages in my mind of DIC:
                        1. Even after they were pretty much snubbed the son kept coming to matches. Clearly there is love of the club there.

                        2. They don't care about a credit crunch. They can loan from other parts of their own business. They're minted.

                        3. It's not necessarily about business. They're splashing the cash like nobodies business trying to increase their profile to get a good tourist trade for when their oil dry's up. This could be done for the publicity. In which case they'll want success and they'll not want any bad press from dodgy dealings.

                        4. They could have switched to another club after we snubbed them. They didn't. There must be some reason they're desperate for Liverpool and only Liverpool. I'd suggest 2 reasons:
                        a) Liverpool is a big worldwide brand (ergo it's publicity not business)
                        b) as per point 1, they do feel an attachment to the club.

Sure, It's all just guesswork, not necessarily any more right than the next guy, but I reckon DIC would be great owners.

Personally I don't think it will happen unfortunately, Laurel and Hardy are here to stay.

Nope, but I would not stated it so clearly, that they are non-drinking DIC's

Sorry, but most of that simply isn't true. Al Ansari has been coming to matches for years, long before any takeover by DIC was discussed - but I've seen no mention of the shiek's sone coming to Anfield - at least one of them is a manc anyway.

They may be minted now, but you don't stay minted by spending money like water - these are hard headed businessmen, not knights in shining armour. Not to mention the fact that there is already speculation that sovereign states like Dubia may already be overstretched in terms of their use of credit.

Is it absolutely about business. There are cheaper ways to get publicity than by spunking £400+m on a football club, especially when football fans are so partisan - might make LFC fans happy but what about the rest of the world?

They want LFC because it represents a huge potential return on any initial investment, not because making us happy makes them look good. Look at the TV money, the money to be made from a new stadium, worldwide merchanidsing etc etc. Few clubs in the world, if any, match up to the current LFC as a potential football investment (Ansari himself said as much, which should tell you all you need to know about why they want the club so much)

Love or money? I would have thought it was obvious

I wish all this could be sorted out over a ciggie break, like most big decisions in large corporate companies.
