Laing O'Rourke said today that 3 brickies and a Polish labourer will be starting on the stadium on Monday.

If everything goes to plan I can't see why it won't be built in three years time,the construction of the Emirates started in 2004 and it was completed in 2006.

If you look at the Emirates website the groundwork took a while but once that was done the actual stadium was built in about a year. It flew up.

If you look at the Emirates website the groundwork took a while but once that was done the actual stadium was built in about a year. It flew up.

The ground works will appear to take the longest as it all happens on site. Meanwhile they'll be making big sections of stand somewhere else that will arrive and be put together like duplo and appear to be flying up.

3 years is plenty to build the stadium providing there is the $$$$ and the aussie dope smoker from wembley isn't on site. That was some carry on there.

With all the uncertainty and turmoil surrounding the club off the pitch I can't see any evidence whatsoever to suggest everything will be as efficient and smooth as we would like regarding the stadium.

I give it four years minimum before we leave Anfield.

The only problem I can see (and its a big one!) is if Gillett and Hicks can't get the money for the stadium to be built.After that it is down to Laing O’Rourke to stick to deadlines etc.

Mate, if that happens then they're royally ****ed. The stadium is central to their plans.

Yeah, if that goes wrong I can see us being re sold pretty quickly , I do hope they get the money for the stadium as I think its a fantastic design, its one of the few things they have got right. (In my opinion of course, I know a few people don't like the design..)

Nice design but i preferred the fully loaded, not the stripped down version
