I agree that Robbie's movement, touch etc is very good. What I was trying to say tho, he may be able to pull away and find some space but defenders in the premiership are gettin quicker and fitter, therfore they can recover so quick when they lose someone, robbie at times can't get away from them. Does that make sense

As I said, Robbie will stay for the season, as he still has a lot to offer the club, but if we are to compete and challenge for the league this season, imo we need another striker.

it could work with stevie/luis bombing forward ..........

It does make sense and I understand what you're saying, I just think that his limitations are not always going to be the problem that you think. Look at Sheringham. He's always been slower than Frank Lampard's metabolism, but to use a cliche, the first yard is all in the head. He's never going to skin someone Cisse style, but if he's dragging defenders away from his strike partner and getting the space in the box, I think he's still a very effective forward.

ay, but Sheringham is stronger and taller than robbie, so he can hold the ball up, challenge (successfully) etc with the bigger defenders out there, where robbie, imo, now struggles.

What i'm trying to say is - The way modern football is now(esp. the Prem) Being a good footballer isn't enough, it's about either being big, strong, Athletic, or really skilful/lightening fast. If a manager is lucky they can get someone with both qualities - **** fast and **** strong. But there ain't many.

With Crouch's scoring record for England, I'd say he's the first one on the team sheet these days.
