Brilliant game. Widely hailed as one of the greatest European finals until we went and surpassed ourselves with the miracle of Istanbul.

A great day in Dortmund. Then off to the Westfalenstadion where I stood at the back of the lower tier in the Liverpool end. I remember how the whole ground to a man chanted "Alavés" as they went up to collect their losers medals.

boss day out, I flew from Finland where I was living to Munich where my bro was living and we got the train up from there, still one of my greatest days out

I ended up with 2 bruised and 1 broken rib when are third went in caused by the steep slope of the stand too much drink and about 6 people landing on top of me.

We managed to get a place on the coaches organised by the Development Association. We left from Anfield Road early on Tuesday morning. The coaches were supposed to be strictly booze free. But everyone came with "suspicious" bottles of pop.

We drove down to Dover, crossed to Calais and then a bloody long drive across France and the low countries to a little town called Gladbeck where we stayed in a nice 5 star hotel. After a night drinking the hotel dry, we got driven the 20-odd miles into Dortmund where we enjoyed the day in the city centre.

It was straight back to the hotel again after the match, where we discovered that they had restocked, so we had to drink them dry again. The following morning it was back on the coaches for the long boring drive back. They stopped at one of the big warehouses around Calais so we could buy whatever we wanted before a rather rough crossing over the channel.

We arrived back at Anfield Road very late on Thursday evening.

- ****ing loved it, me and my dad left two days before the final and drove to dortmund Think we stayed just outside, maybe in munster?(it rings a bell) We did the journey back in one go only stopping for the very back in france - which was ****ing delayed due to high winds!!!!

the final was un believable - i was sat behind the goal, mid way up at the end fowler scored. When we got the winner I literally ended up four five rows down
