    Nemeth

I have a feeling we'll be seeing this lad breakthrough this season. That is maybe a reason why Rafa won't splash out silly money on a centre forward. Well, Crouch will be replaced but I can see Nemeth forcing his way up and take Voronin's place in the squad if he really progresses the way he's been doing lately.

People are talking about Villa etc, but we have a player with fantastic potential in the squad already and he may save us in forking out huge sums of money in the next couple of years.

Thought he was off to Leeds on loan...

Eh really !? I can't see him going anywhere in the near future. Am sure Rafa would want to nurture him a bit more before even thinking of loaning him out. He seems the type of player who wouldn't look out of place in the first team if given a run out.

Rafa said that we will bring in at least one striker, maybe two.

And Nemeth is very likely to go out on loan, according to Ablett.

'We will have another main striker before the season starts, maybe two.'

I did miss out a lot lately.

Letting him go out on loan might be a good thing, but if we buy two established players more experienced than him that may stifle him a little bit. I know it's all about increasing competition but this guy will have benefited from a run out in the League Cup or the likes.

IMHO if you cant make it at Leeds, you cant make it at Liverpool.

Leeds would be a great move for him I think.

Competitive football for a team that will definitely be promoted. I'd even stick a few quid on him as top goalscorer.

Well obviously but ultimately, him being a success at Leeds wouldn't change much, he'd still have to prove himself here. That's the point.

Yes, this gives him valuable experience and a taste of competitive football, but I haven't been too keen on loan deals really. Ultimately, the player has to prove himself at this football club.

This guy will make it of that I am convinced. You can see that he isn't just a player that could become something, he already has touches that players spend their entire careers trying to reach. I think we have a phenominal player on our hands

That's why I also think he should be fighting it out here.

I think the thing is simply that in the past the players that have gone out on loan have turned out not to be good enough. Has nothing to do with going out on loan.

According to Ablett they are very keen on sending the older players from the reserves out on loan unless they do something special in pre season.
So if Rafa and his staff think that is what is best for them, then who am I to disagree.

There is a huge gulf between reserves and the first team. Lets not forget that Pennant looked like Zidane in those games.

Some players may find it difficult going out on loan especially to a lesser club. I'm sure Nemeth wouldn't have any qualms on that because he's still a young lad. But on the whole, I haven't seen loan deals being fruitful for our players.

Look at Hammill, Hobbs, Anderson etc ... They are still struggling to break through despite spending time elsewhere to gain experience. The level to fight it out is here, so they should stay here. It's the club's responsibility to find a balance that will enable these young lads to thrive on and be competitive. Arsenal have done that.

IMHO the players you mention are just not good enough. Out on loan or not.

As for that policy it seem to be very much favored by Rafa and his staff. I personally tend to agree with you, but who am I to say I know better then the staff at Liverpool FC.

They are training with the first team anyway !? And I know that training is very competitive. It doesn't replace a full blooded football match, but games such as the League Cup games should be the ideal place to blood these players in.

By including (and promoting) one or two young players (by merit) to the first team squad, instead of buying players for bucket load of money, is much more beneficial to them.

Well, we need to have the quality though, and it seems we're getting there with the signings Rafa made during the last year.
