Anyone know how Lucerne is pronounced properly? Can anyone spell it phonetically or know if the Swiss pronounce their C’s like an S or a K?

I’ve just heard a few different pronunciations at it’s annoying me.

Oh, and just someone try and write a more pointless post today…

        I would guess it's pronounced Loose-earn.

Complete guess though, so not much help to you

          Well at least you tried.

Anyone know if Jonny Barnes will be hosting or commentating tonight, does he still work for Channel 5.

          Hope it's not Colin Murray.

            I'd go with that

I'll not be 100% convinced until I hear David Pleat pronounce it though.

I imagine Francophone Swiss would pronounce it "Loo-sairn".

                How about that?
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

                    Interesting.

So do you speak to many Francophone Swiss?

I would hate to bring this up in the bar later if the guess has no substance.

I hope Pacheco gets some more playing time in this one.

Yep me too Reece, not many people seem to getting excited about this lad for some reason.

I think Pacheco will certainly force his way through.

                              Quote:

Pacheco is a prodigious talent who looks like he has a trick up his sleeve every time he gets the ball.

He's got two good feet and an eye for goal.

"He's small but brave and always looks willing to take possession.

When he does get the ball he can move away from defenders with a trick or a drop of the shoulder.

His first challenge is to become a regular for the reserves.

He still needs to develop physically because he's only slight.

"If he was thrown in at the deep end now there is a danger he would be bullied, but he has a great chance in the future.

If he features in the Carling Cup next season, I'm positive fans will like what they see."

Michael Owen in his early days perhaps.
