Lichstenstien v Degen
Watching Lichstentein this evening struck me that he's a very good fullback (judging by just one preseason game of course). Pacey, can pass well and fast enough to cover back in defence. He made Ngog look positively stationary at times and did not let Dossena run past him. Also attacked Dossena in our half and got past him quite easily (thankfully Agger mopped up).
Wait for it, this is a positive post...my point is if Degen had been keeping this guy out of the Belgian team before his injury then I'm actually looking forward to how Degen plays. At least against the lesser sides where he'll have licence to attack with pace (something Arbeloa can never do being a defender's defender).
I'm nervously excited about nailing our fullback positions. Dossena already looks a better player than Riise and Aurelio. If only Degen can change the dimension of our play on the other side...if, if, if.
