Rafa plays Kuyt for one of two reasons - either he likes what he sees and thinks Kuyt is doing a great job and can be utilitised in a number of places or he believes that Kuyt is doing a sufficient job before being replaced in his secondary position when Rafa has sufficient resources to replace him. Given he was signed as a striker, I believe it is the latter.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Really bored with all the transfer talk now. Just want to see some (competitive) football.
Last nights game was hughely competetive IMO. It was absolutely neck and neck between about 8 or 9 people for who could put in the least effort

Much though we'd all love a team of eleven Torres' and Gerrards, that's completely unachievable. In general, just putting effort in is certainly not enough, but when you have a player like Kuyt whose workrate is so phenomenal, its something different, and has been publicly recognised by the likes of Torres and Mascherano, who love playing with the guy. But hey, what do they know?

What else do you expect them to say about a team mate?! I suppose you believe it when our new signings say that they've "only ever dreamed of playing for Liverpool", aswell do you?

Kuyt is substandard and already on his way out. Look at 4 of our recent big money strikers - kuyt, diouf, heskey, cisse. All of them were bought to score goals, all of them failed pretty miserably, all of them got shifted out wide because they couldn't do the business in the middle and 3 of them have been sold. Notice a pattern yet? Dirk's days are numbered for sure.

His first touch is bloody awful at times and his distribution is erratic. Having said that, I have to say he did look very good at the Euros for Holland.

If he starts well I will give him another chance, but I lost patience with him half way through last season so for me its his last chance to prove to me (and I suspect to Rafa) that he is good enough to have a regular role in the team.

If not then its either retain him as a squad player or sell if we get a very good offer for him (by very good I mean get our money back or make a profit).

Come on Dirky, prove me wrong ya ugly get.
Ever thought of starting a footy team under your name? Your preseason league form would be world class...
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Load of nonsense. He no-where near on his way out. Kuyt is the hardest worker in our squad and is 1 he first names on the squad list. Clearly he has had a confidence issue in front of goal so he has been shifted out to the right side now. Some of his performances in the last 3 months of the season(1 of the top scorers in CL) and in the Euro's were brilliant. Now he will take his new found confidence into the new season and be brilliant for us.

Trust me, Anfield loves Dirk Kuyt and rightly so. He does so much work for the team and makes life easy for Torres. He will create more and more goals this season

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Speaking from experience when your old man is dying from cancer it is very very hard to keep your eye on the job, a mentally exhausting time, you feel knackerd all of the time and its just not cricket ... I would not be surprised one bit if it effected his performances
