Rafa's Last Season?

I just think he's a realist. The task at hand for Rafa seems to be underestimated by many, not necessarily fans, but to overturn the Scum & The Sickeningly wealthy Chavs is a monumental task that takes many years to organise, especially if it's to be more than just a lucky one off.

Hmmm, 5live just said they 'understand' the deal for Barry could still go through by the end of the week. I don't see it, unless he kicks up one hell of a fuss, and even then, Villa would look stupid after declaring to the world he's staying, even if it were portrayed as a ploy to get us to cough up.

I did read what you said, and the way you wrote it was with a great amount of vitriol and sarcasm, implying that as a match going fan your opinion was of greater importance than others.

Course, if you could be civil and reasoned in your responses, i might view them as a more balanced debate, not the rantings of a man slightly on edge.

I know, it hurts, bad enough these last few years, but with 'them' breathing down our necks on the Title count it seems like it's that much more important for us to finally hit back with a Title of our own, or more.

Why do people argue for the sake of it, pretending that another poster has taken a position that they actually haven't, characterising another person's position in an extreme way, just so that it's easier to argue against? This thread is full of it, and Ploddy isn't even here.

If this season goes badly and we don't show clear signs of progress, Rafa' job will be under pressure , like it or not, and there will be a high % of fans who'll think we should at least look for a replacement. This is just being realistic and is not a view worthy of vitriolic condemnation. Raising it now may be a bit of a 'buzz kill' amongst all of the pre-season excitement but that doesn't last long anyway.
