    Which 2?

K, watching that Rangers game cheered me rught up after weeks of house move hell. I think we are so close to kicking on & really challenging on all fronts in the next few seasons.

We have some of the best players in the world for their respecitve positions & roles & Rafa looks to have unearthed some *cough* gems youth-wise & hopefully we'll see more of these younguns develolp over the next few years. Especially pleasing is to see Darby & Spearing bedding in nicely.

Problem is tho that our league is so so strong & we are facing 2 teams who can go out & buy en masse the players they want without financial limitations, so I still think we're gonna be 2-3 players short this season.

So my question is, if you could pick any 2 players from the last decade at their peak, who would it be & why? Doesnt neccessarily mean the best players, just the ones who'd complement our present squad the best.

For me, it'd be Macmoneyman & Marcus Babel. I think we're still weakish down the flanks (admittedly Dossena is looking good early doors) & I think these 2 would add the balance, creativity &expansiveness we lack.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Yeah if Markus Babbel were our right back today our team would be close to being complete IMO.

The other position that needs strengthening, for me, is the right-sided attacking player...and McManaman is probably the stand-out option.

    So, in summary...I agree.

Those two at their peak in our side now would be
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Rob Jones was ace, so him at right back and Macca on the right.

i would have to go for fowler and mcmanaman.

robbie purely for the fact he was and stil is a genius in front of goal. a fowler at his peak playing with nando and stevie at their's would score 30+ a season easy. macca would be my second choice because he is what we are crying out for right now-a proper right winger who would terrorise defenses and set up a **** load of opportunites for robie and nando.

Over the last decade id choose Fowler and Mcmanaman because they were pure, unadulterated football geniuses. And scouse. I love them both and if they were 10 years younger and in our first tea today I have no doubt we would win, or come within a couple of points, of the title. I love those 2. (God dammit though a mentally stable Collymore would have been so so good)!!

McManaman without a doubt - he is my favourite Liverpool player of all time. When I was growing up, I modelled my game on the way he played but I still turned out ****.

Second choice is very tough - could be one of Rob Jones, Fowler, Redknapp, Babbel. Collymore was absoutely immense when played for us - truly was world class. I would normally say Fowler but we have Torres now and am instead picking problem positions we have now and thats the wings and full back position. But I'll go with a surprise choice in many people's eyes with Vegard Heggem. He only played 2 seasons for us before he broke but he was an amazing player. If he had lasted 5 (or more) seasons at this club injury free, trust me, he would be an absolute legend. Good at defending, dogged and he very good going forward. He could easiy go past 2/3 defenders.

Babbel and Barmby, besides the injuries. Just for the fact he went to Everton and said 'I want to play for Liverpool'

                  Gary Mac for Alonso
                  - Sublime passer of the ball and highly intelligent

                  Babbel for Arbeloa
                  - Superb wing back and would mean we wouldn't need a true winger. Dossena and Babbel

                  Torres
                  Keane
                  Babel McAllister Gerrard
                  Mascherano
                  Dossena -- -- Babbel
                  Agger - Carragher
                  Reina

I'm a Nemeth fan. From what I've seen he has added more than Keane.

I'd absolutely have McManaman for one of the spots if he were at his pacey, dribbling best (i.e. before he became a more central midfielder type).

The other one, well Fowler merits consideration due to his obvious quality but I'd go along with the likes of Babel and Gary Mac in that they might improve our squad further in the positions they would fill. Redknapp I think would be an improvement over Alonso and improve our set pieces also - one of our biggest weaknesses - but Gary Mac might add a bit more guile whilst doing the same.

Thought I would stop lurking for a second and put in my two cents...

A year off a decade, but I would have gone for John Barnes, and then Steve McManaman, would give us great width and give us so many more options.

Macca would be the first choice looking at our current squad. Depending on how Degen turns out I would choose either Babel or Fowler, Babel if his level is not good enough otherwise fowler

Macca was a **** but amazing on his day.
Rob Jones was one of the most solid back ever seen - shame he never netted.
