A good start is crucial. We need to have confidence and pick up the easier points along the way, we can't draw against stoke, fulham and the like. We have to keep up and not fall behind early on or it's gonna make for another frustrating season. I think we can if we play to our full potential.

Were only talking about two wins over the scum last year and the league would have been ours.
A win against them or chavski would have given us the confidence in other games then to have got wins instead of draws.

i agree it's always good for confidence when you beat your rivals and its bad when you lose, but still if we'd have beaten man city and boro away and wigan, villa, brum and spurs at home(all these were draws), things would have been different in the standings. and that without taking points from our rivals!

i think we've proved we can beat any team in europe on our day, so why not them?! we've been the better side in a lot of those games and only a penalty that wasn't, a late equaliser and a late winner combined with our inability to score, cost us those games(at home) last season!

Problem was we don't kill games off, we were 1-0 in a number of those games and totally dominating but we couldn't get the second goal.

We also need to at least stop the other top 4 sides getting more points off us than we get off them, as they are killers. If we'd beaten United at Anfield and got the win we should have had against Chelsea (dodgy pen) we'd have only been 3 points behind winners rather than 11
