Just a debate rage, but you have to give the kid a chance at 'a' level. Not a pre-season friendly. On current performance, i.e. the last 45 mins I'd say the whole team won't make at this level. But that would be total bollocks of course.

I think the fact that all our main signings this close season appear to be in the peak (late 20's) of their careers indicates that Rafa really rates some of our youngsters. I think he is showing great faith that over the next few years some of these kids are going to make the grade.

The more I see of Spearing, the more I think he'll make it. If not here, then definitely in the Premier League. I haven't seen much of him before, so his ability has pleasantly surprised me.

I think you are onto something. It is all about balance. You need some older established players to steady the ship and guide it through the fog, to use a metaphor. Experience is key to bringing on the younger players. Rafa has made a lot of progress and invested a lot in the 'possible' future of the club.

Of course we should only give them 10 minutes to prove themselves before ****ing them off

Spearing is decent but nothing special. Hi might make it at a Premiership team, hes on a par with Danny Guthrie I suppose. Wouldnt be surprised if he ended up playing most of his football in the Championship though.

I think it also indicates that he wants/needs to win the league in the next year or two without having to wait for potential to be realised.
