Good point. I'm won over. Academic anyway since I won't be there but for what it's worth...
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Precisely, was sung in the Kop on Wed night which gave me a very middle aged "what is the world coming to?" moment. I find it very depressing.

With regard to the "Easy" chant: it wouldn't be so bad if it HAD been easy. But on every occassion that it's been chanted, it's been far from easy. I never join in with "Easy" for that reason, plus it's generally very disrespectful to the opposition and I think we should be above that sort of thing.

Now, if we were to streamroller over the Scum, Blues***e or Chelsea with a 5-nil plus whitewash, then maybe, just maybe, it might it be appropriate.

I took my youngest lad (7) to the game, he started singing 'Easy....easy....' to which it was whispered in his ear, 'If you don't stop singing that, you never coming to another game.'

He stopped and then carried on trying to get the words right to poor Scouser Tommy.

Big up to the little guy it was his 2nd match in a week and he's earning his Anfield wings slowly but surely.

The fact that we don't do stupid stunts is what makes us different as a club

Personally think it's classless at worst, and something also likely to backfire at best. Can't think of anything more likely to get Bolton's fans behind their team and gee them up.

Lets not forget we were featured on panorama too.

Agree with you on the classless bit, but our 'feature' on Panorama appeared to me to be above board in that we said we'd be interested in maybe offering the lad a pro contract when he turned 17 (i.e. after his yoof contract expired with Boro'.....nowt wrong with that in my eyes).

Lets see what the FA report says. We might be embarressed yet. We certainly shouldn't be tempting fate with these kinds of stunts.

with regards to the 'easy' chant...............i reckon we chant the same kind of thing though phrased a little better:-

'show them the way to go home,
they're tired and they wanna go to bed [for a w*nk]
cos they're only half a football team,
compared to the boys in red'
'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
                          It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
                          Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

i was cacking it during that documentary....there's been lots of weird rumours surrounding some of our deals over the last few years. If the least we're guilty of is 'tapping up' Ziege then we'll be lucky I reckon.
