Keane and maybe Barry show that they are prepared to invest for short-term gain.Originally posted by Resu View PostI have to say I think it will be fourth again, third if Arsenal have a bad season.
And the Barry saga shows clearly that the owners are happy with that, why pay £18M or more to reach higher. Max profit is what it`s all about.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

The lastest I`ve read is that they don`t want to pay for Barry, so short term gain it is indeed.Originally posted by Operation View PostKeane and maybe Barry show that they are prepared to invest for short-term gain.
Fourth place with a minimum of expense is a more or less optimal for them, while fifth is a disaster.Blank

Er no, it was because he wanted regular football you ****.Originally posted by Deano73 View PostIt would have been useful to keep Peter Crouch as an extra option, but the club's finances forbade that
WTF? You mean the same Chelsea that put 5 strikers and Robert Huth against us when they weren't winning?Originally posted by Deano73 View PostLiverpool, then, will still find themselves resorting to the sort of improvisation that is beneath Chelsea and Manchester United.
Kuyt was a really important member of the team there last season so as long as he plays the same he will be great plus he has a great cross and good technical ability.Originally posted by Deano73 View PostJermaine Pennant and, in particular, Dirk Kuyt have hitherto offered a partially effective nuisance value but, obviously, not enough to win the Premier League;
Yes because you've seen so much of Dossena? Evra looked average before he joined Manure so shut the **** up fool.Originally posted by Deano73 View PostOn the left, Dossena is an improvement on Jon-Arne Riise but, again, inferior to Patrice Evra, Gaël Clichy and Ashley Cole.
Very trueOriginally posted by Deano73 View PostIf taking a respectable tilt at the title means squashing all the small fry, then actually winning it entails doing something else Liverpool failed to do last season (albeit because of obscene refereeing when Chelsea came to Anfield): namely, beat at least one of the big boys in the league.
All in all a dog**** article written by a pub manager and all round arsehat.Originally posted by Deano73 View PostThey'll have a prime early opportunity to do just that in Game 4, when Manchester United will travel to Anfield without Cristiano Ronaldo (and possibly also Wayne Rooney). Victory for the visitors, even another fluky one, would intensify suspicions that this is going to be another frustrating domestic season for Liverpool.

Thought generally it was a fair article. We do lack attacking width. We aren't favourites to win it, although we do have a chance.
It looks like Rafa doesn't believe you need a quality wide man to win the league; he's paid to make those decisions and he'll live and die by them.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

How do we lack width?Originally posted by Cacodemon View PostThought generally it was a fair article. We do lack attacking width. We aren't favourites to win it, although we do have a chance.

We get our width the same way Manure and the Arse do. Through the full backs. We've just brought into two players who are essentially wing backs.
We have two wide forwards who are constantly sitting in high wide positions.
I just don't see how that equates to having no width?The Crushing Machine MKII
