    Loving Rafa's Valuation of Players

You can tell he's clearly pissed off about Villa's valuation of Barry....

    Alonso £18m
    Kuyt £16m
    Voronin £6m

Imagine he could pull those off, we would have another £40m to spend. Not likely!!!

considering the market all his valuations are spot on...erm, well, except the voronin one..

didn't we buy kuyt for about 14 mil? so at least that should be the minimum for any transfer, but rafa won't sell him imo

don't even get me started on alonso, we should be looking to get over 20mil imo for him!

I would say the value of Alonso is fair - in fact I think he's worth more. Kuyt is definately not worth £16m - I would say £6m at most given the fact he doesn't score many goals or get many assists, Voronin is probably worth £3m. My opinion of course.

According to fantasy.premierleague Kuyt got 8 assists in the league last year. Which was our second highest behind Gerrard with 11 and one ahead of Ronaldo and one behind Nani (Rooney got 13 and Tevez 6) to give it some context.

You forgot to mention that nobody has coughed up the dough.

That's probably the point. As much as his heart wants Barry, his head is telling him not to under-sell a major asset (Alonso). After all, our players are now important assets in these frugal times. He doesn't even want Kuyt to go, but if someone's stupid enough then cough up real money for him.

The Voronin valuation is his little Spanish humour which, to be fair, is very funny. :-)

He's setting high prices for players he's maybe not that keen to sell, letting buying clubs know we won't sell players on the cheap, it's unlikely we would get those valuations for any of those players, but at least Rafa is trying to get the best price he can
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
