    Let's face it...

Yesterday I watched the game vs Lazio and let' s face the reality!

We have a solid team but without a class wide man we will not win the league. It's true there was no Ryan Babel and Steve Gerrard but creatively we still lack behind Manure and Chavski. What was Kuyt doing on the right??? He gives 200% but that's not enough. Even Benayoun is not good for the first 11.

Benitez still have to bring the missing link!!!

It's been 10 years since Macca left and we still haven't replaced him which is a huge slight on Rafa and Houllier. Until we do, we won't win the league.

      oh ye of little faith.

It was only a friendly and that's the best you can come up with, shouting down our chances again.

      Keep smiling eh ?

macca ceased being a right winger for us a long time before that. He became a gem of a player behind Collymore and Fowler.
Thing is, we dont play a system for out and out wingers, it is from FB we need width

btw we won just an fa cup and league cup under macca, so your statement that we wont win the league unless we replace him is somewhat flawed

But we didn't win it with Macca in his prime playing for us.

We were only 11 points off the top last season and lost only 4 games. Agger will be back, Dossena will be terrorising the opposing frontline, Babel will be far more effective this season, Keane and Torres will have more goals between them than any other pairing in europe. We have some impressive and hungry youngsters who will shock many when they burst into the premier league.

We're ready to mount a serious challenge this season, we really are.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

for all of man u's brilliant and wonderful play they only finished 11 points ahead of us.

its not good enough but at least we're heading in the right direction and hopefully the addition of attacking full backs will be enough but we still need someone out wide who can unlock defences.

hopefully rafa will be working on this.

I was at the game last night and it's amazing to see how slow some players are at releasing the ball and making sharp decisions. Beniyoun was a prime example last night, he kept getting the ball and holding play up when options were available, (especially Dossena outside him).

Also without Stevie G noone seems to be prepared to have a dig from 25 yards or so, it was a bit like watching Arsenal last night just less entertaining.

Colemere - we don't play a quick game, we play an energy conserving game hoping to win games at the end with superior stamina.

Who do you buy to replace Macca? World football is lacking the winger that hugs the touchline. Add to that a winger that has the quality to play at a top team.

That's a bit of a generalization. The hallmark of Rafa's approach is that we mix it up. Quick, slow, short, long, through the middle, down the flanks, press high, sit deep, etc etc

We need a winger that can go wide and come back in. I know we didn't win it with Macca but in today's game with his energy and skill he would be worth £40m. Imagine him on the right of Torres?
