Thats not even taken into account the other fantastic youngsters we have .. I would love to see one or two of them break through this season, particularly Pacheco, I would love to see him get a run out a few times, I have a feeling he could be the next big thing. Incredibly composed on the ball, very intelligent, confident and anticipates movement well

The wide areas are very weak, especially the left side. We don't have one natural left sided player.

Benny is a Right-Midfielder and Gerrard a central midfielder, we are weak on the left, hence the reason for Barry. Barry is being bought for the left hand side, NOT to replace Scabby.

Scabby was being looked at to raise capital because we are so strong in central midfield, we could afford to lose him.

They are pretty much adaptable players alright.

Gerrard is much much than a central midfielder. Yossi is much more than a 'right midfielder' as they can cover pretty much every attacking position there is. I think people still have got this outdated notion of how football used to be played.

I agree that the players mentioned above are adaptable. However, to give us better balance we definitely need a left footed midfield player. Whether that is Barry, is open to debate. Rafa himself said we need a player to play on the left so I am 100% certain whoever comes in will be will be naturally left footed.

Yep exactly .... Although Benny can play on the Left and Stevie would make most peoples teams on the right .. but I hear you and I agree with .. as would Rafa I would hazard a guess

Not sure if I misunderstood your guys points, but I would put my house on it that if Barry signs he will play the majority of our games on the left alongside Mascherano. He may be used occasionally to play further up the pitch in the inside left position but it won't be that often imo.

I suspect he will also play alongside scabby when Mashers assassin type defending is not needed, when we need to be more offensive.
