its not like he is a slave or anything

Damn right, it's not like he has to spend his whole life there, just stay long enough to pick up a superb wage then go and live where the hell he likes. It's a hard life, such sacrifices are part of it, sacrifices, who am i kidding.

But wont we pay him up?, as we are asking him to go, i dont see him losing any cash in this, unless i'm mistaken there.

Don't even compare Finnan to Riise. At least he was never afraid to use his bad foot.
Bang on mate. Always been a big fan of Finnan. I'd agree 100% that he's not an effective attacking FB but he is rock solid defensively. I can't remember the last game when he got a roasting.

So is he good enough to play first-choice in a title-winning pool side? Possibly not, but he does have a role to play in a title-winning squad. And how can you criticise a player for not wanting to leave Liverpool?? Imagine how hard that must be - granted the money is phenomenal but that's the case wherever he goes. I think it's a bit unrealistic to expect the chap to happily head off into the sunset 'for the good of the club'

Anyway, rant over, he's been a great servant to the club and I wish him well wherever he ends up - good to see Trappatoni has brought him back into the national side. YNWA Stevie.

He is getting some unfair stick on this forum. Don't know why. He never complains when dropped from the team, just gets the head down and tries to force himself back into the first 11.
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

I can't believe some of the stick Finnan's getting on here, a couple of years back he was probably the best right back in the Premiership and whatever happens he has given us great service done a good solid job and has probably been one of the unsung heroes of the side.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Don't think so mate tbh. There's been talk of him coming back since Trappatoni took over. Not sure whether he didn't get on with \ rate Staunton as boss or whether he was trying to prolong his career but glad to have him back all the same!
