Well i reckon H&G would love nothing more than to get Rafa out, and have a less ambitious manager installed, one that would make less demands of them.

And a manager who would not get us into Europe therefore losing us about 40 mil a yr in winnings,TV rights,Shirt sales and sponsorship.I think the Yanks have Kopped on that Rafa is the man.they do have a point about spending 18 mil on a 28 yr old with not sell on value and a career that will end in 2 to 3 yrs.

YOu have a skillful way of simplifying things.

It's not about him not being able to sign anyone he wants, it's about a decision being taken above his head preventing him from signing someone the club can afford. It's about non-footballing men making footballing decisions contrary to those of their manager. Why the hell should he put up with footballing decisions being taken out of his hands and being determined by money men who don't have a fraction of the football expertise he has?

Rafa told the club he could sell Alonso and buy Barry AND make a profit. Instead, we are looking at a £5m deficit. No board in the world is going to play those games especially for a player who has only just come onto the scene, doesn't have any CL experience and it is debatable whether he is any better than Mascherano, Gerrard and Alonso.

Well in this situation he is. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks Barry is worth £18m

If Carrick and Hargreave are worth that money then so is Barry. IMO he is a better player than both.
