You say these things as though they are fact and not opinion.You then use them to beat Rafa.I actually agree that we need 2 wide players but unfortunately they are a commodity these days rash.Every winger we`ve bid for in the last 5 yrs has been vastly overpriced or has slipped through the net due to Parry`s inadequacies.
Therefore Rafa will try to use Babel`s pace and Pennants trickery when he thinks they`ll be effective and Bennayoun and Gerrard when we play the bigger teams.

Sunderland were a lot better than i thought they would be, if they bought a striker who could bang them in a few goals i think they would be a half decent side.

Of course, you have to give Keane time but i dont want it to hinder Torres.

rafa has lost faith in pennant hence sticking on the quaresma look-a-like but unfortunately not play-a-like and ignoring jermaine.

I think anbody bar arbeloa could do a better job on the right hand side. Steve Finnan is another who rafa has cold shouldered but he is a much better wide midfield player than kuyt will ever be.

I cant figure out the formation which we will use.

442 means we lack creativity from the flanks and teams just fill out the middle knowing that we will make nothing happen from the wide areas because kuyt couldnt beat his monkey and benayoun just cant play out there.

4231 means we have to integrate torres, keane, gerrard and babel into the front line with either keane or gerrard moving out wide but why buy keane to play him on the right and why move gerrard from a position from which he scored 21 goals and created 23 more ?

Vastly overpriced? Wouldn't it have been better to pay £20m for Quaresma than £25m for Babel, Benayoun and Pennant? It is about choices and Rafa has made too many wrong ones.

The defence look disorganised, all over the shop. I'm one of a few people who actually think Dossena looks like he's going to be a good signing.

There was little penetration from midfield, Plessi either passed sideways or backwards, but only if he was unable to pass the ball to Gerrard. Benny and Gerrard are head and shoulders above the rest technically. I can't believe I'm here a year later and Kuyt still has his position cemented on the wing.

Keane had an forgetful game, I hardly noticed he was on the pitch, I had visions that he and Torres would hit the ground running, but its perhaps way too early. He'll come good though, I'm sure of it.

A real get out of jail card by Torres in the end and in a performace as poor as that, to come away with 3 points is a real bonus.

We have to step it up but I think think that its going to be hard with this midfield, its one of the poorest we've had (I'm basing this on the fact that Mascher and Babel are away for the next few weeks). We haven't strengthened here at all surprisingly when we all know we're crying out for a quality winger.

Holland got elimanited today so I'm assuming he'll be avaialble in two weeks. Dossena seemed to settle down in the second half and looked like the quality ball playing fullback that he was bought to be. I think Keane will be fine, no really worried about his early season form.

As for Kuyt, I think he is mediocre at best and he needs to be sold ASAP along with Vronin and Pennant. When Kuyt gets the ball he offers ZERO attacking threat.
