Holland got elimanited today so I'm assuming he'll be avaialble in two weeks. Dossena seemed to settle down in the second half and looked like the quality ball playing fullback that he was bought to be. I think Keane will be fine, no really worried about his early season form.

As for Kuyt, I think he is mediocre at best and he needs to be sold ASAP along with Vronin and Pennant. When Kuyt gets the ball he offers ZERO attacking threat.

That's correct, he's supposed to be an attacking player his main attribue should not be his tracking back.

While it wasn't a great performance but we got the win and that's the key thing. Challenging for the title means you have to win games when you aren't at your best and that's what we did today.

Xabi was man of the match he changed the game. We still lack wide players, we were very narrow at times today and there was space available there if we had someone to exploit it. Kuyt works hard but he can't really cross, the number of cross attempts he has that hit the full back is too high. Benayoun is a useful player but isn't a natural wide man, and neither of them have pace. For this reason I think it's important Babel has a good season!

People on this site stress about our expenditures as if the money were coming out of their own pockets!!! Who gives a f*** how much was spent here and there, the £10 million difference between this and that? The point is back the manager when he wants to buy (we didn't for Barry) and win matches... spending money helps, but FFS, the obsession with spending on here is laughable. Ronaldo wasn't the most expensive player ever coming in, Nasri was a match winner today for a little bit of money, Torres a match winner for £23 million, Keane cost this-- just get on with the matches! Back the manager and get on with it... insanity some of this...

been out so heres my belated opinion.

Oh, let me start by first saying I watched the Arsenal match earlier and couldnt help but think - if only we played football like this, pass and go, loads and loads of off ball movement, clever incisive passes, 1st time passes, all that and they didnt play all that well! Anyway, I digress....

Our match started like the midweek one, we were truly **** and sunderland looked comfortable early doors, we had a bit of play after the 20min mark and the last 10 of the 1st half were ok. 2nd half was better but still far and away from what I want and expect from us, off the ball movement was generally rubbish, no great link ups, just no flair or flexibility of play whatsoever. Its very disapponting.

Xabi definitely made a big difference even though I felt he wasnt at his best, Torres was isolated but still managed 1 moment of brilliance and Stevie didnt seem with it again.

Pepe and Carra were good but everyone else, dossena included as I didnt see what he done to be called m.o.m in some of your opinions, was dog****. After the **** midweek performance and with general fitness surely greater than that of our opponents I really expected a convincing win. Yeah right.

Going back to the arsenal, if we played attacking fluent football as they do, or at least try to, id be far happier and im sure we would be more succesful. It ****s me off no end seeing a team that has the best spine in world football play utterly dull and passionless football.

Anyway, 1st weekend and all that so im absolutely willing to forgive them and forget but my main concern is that we will be stuck with this style and have another mediocre (by our standards) season. Whilst all of the time i have 1/2 an eye on the ****ing scum! Arggghhhhhhh....we need to win this ****ing league so help me god!!!

p.s -Kuyt, Benny, Arbeloa need to be sold, Dossena, Keane, Plessis all need to buck the **** up and we really do need some width.

Vastly overpriced? Wouldn't it have been better to pay £20m for Quaresma than £25m for Babel, Benayoun and Pennant? It is about choices and Rafa has made too many wrong ones.

I didn't mention Chelsea because they have spent more than Rafa in the 4 years, but they haven't spent more this past 18 months. In fact Rafa has spent more money than the rest of the top 4 since G+H came in.

And this is what is wrong with our fans. After Liege, Gareth Barry has been given Maradona status, sign him and we win the league ala Napoli. Now Ryan Babel who isn't even a winger, is better than Quaresma. I once even saw a thread saying Kuyt is better than Tevez on another forum... LFC fans are becoming the most deluded in the world.

What next? Dossenna the best left back in Italy? oh wait...
