Seeing as the Dutch were knocked out on Saturday surely Babel should be back preparing 4 the Boro game on Saturday...

I doubt they've flown back yet mate. If they only went out on Saturday they will probably only fly home today/ tomorrow then he might need a day or two after such a long flight.Originally posted by Nick77 View PostSeeing as the Dutch were knocked out on Saturday surely Babel should be back preparing 4 the Boro game on Saturday...
What?Originally posted by fredo View PostProbably not ready for first team action yet as he's just come back from injury."My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I mean he was 'forced' to play in the Olympics. I'm pretty sure Rafa would have wanted him back in the first team fold more progressively.Originally posted by BFG View PostI doubt they've flown back yet mate. Regardless mate he played a couple of friendlies for us and has played 4 or 5 first team games in the last week or two. He's ready to play.Originally posted by fredo View PostI mean he was 'forced' to play in the Olympics. I'm pretty sure Rafa would have wanted him back in the first team fold more progressively.

I didn't say he was injured but coming back from injury and played competitive matches too soon. Apparently he was crap for most of Holland games. That must explain it isn't it ?

Nah, he'd recovered before he went to the Olympics. If you remember, he played a half in one of our pre-season games before he went to the olympics. The Olympcs will have done wonders for his fitness as he played every minute of the 4 games the Dutch played in hot and humid conditions. He looked OK in the Olympics but he was played up front a striker. To be honest a lot of us thought this would be his position, but on the evidence of the olympics he is definately not effective playing there.Originally posted by fredo View PostI mean he was 'forced' to play in the Olympics. Ay, he did look fit for the dutch in the olympics, and played fairly well in some of their matches. He will be able to play as soon as he is back in liverpool. But Rafa would def. have prefered to have him gaining fitness at the club instead.Originally posted by saj View PostNah, he'd recovered before he went to the Olympics.
